During her time leading Jones Intermediate School, she has helped to create an environment where students lead to serve. Students have been empowered through their roles in action clubs and councils at the school. 100% of teachers met/exceeded growth, the school exceeded growth, and Jones Intermediate ranked third in the state for student growth. Mrs. Cox has led staff and students in an increase in awareness of kindness on campus and she has established a school safety team where teachers, parents, and the community come together to keep safety the number one priority for her school. Jones Intermediate School has earned the NCASCD Lighthouse Award and PTEC Signature School award during her principalship. Mrs. Cox is also a recent graduate from the Distinguished Leaders Practice (DLP) program through NCPAPA.
