Thirty-two spellers came together on Tuesday, December 5 to compete in the Jones Intermediate School Spelling Bee. Students participated in grade level spelling bees, leaving six students standing to move on to the Mount Airy City Schools Spelling Bee in February.
Third Grade Winners were McKennon Hiatt (winner) and Gabe Mauck (runner-up)
Fourth Grade Winners were Mattison Newton (winner) and DeVonte Frazier (runner-up)
Fifth Grade Winners were Lucas Goins (winner) and Kieran Slate (runner-up)
All participants won their class spelling bees to compete in the school bee. Congratulations to everyone!
